Title: Music, Performance, and Coping Strategies: Between Well-being and Risky Behaviors

Abstract

Music is a powerful tool for emotional regulation, focus, and performance enhancement. It plays a crucial role in stress management for professionals, including musicians, who often use it to boost motivation, regulate emotions, and improve concentration. However, in high-pressure environments, coping strategies can take a different turn. Some professionals resort to self-medication, stimulants, or other substances to maintain performance, raising ethical and health concerns. This talk explores the psychology of music as a coping mechanism, its impact on stress and cognitive function, and the fine line between healthy adaptation and risky behaviors such as workplace doping. Through a psychological and neuroscientific lens, we will discuss how music can be harnessed as a sustainable alternative to enhance well-being and performance.

About Dr. Audrey MOCO-DAIJARDIN

Dr. Audrey MOCO-DAIJARDIN is a psychologist and ergonomist specializing in occupational health, cognition, and performance psychology. Her research focuses on how self-medication can evolve into workplace doping in high-pressure environments. In addition to her expertise in ergonomics and cognitive functioning, she explores holistic approaches to well-being and sustainable performance, integrating stress management techniques, neuroscience, and natural health strategies. She is particularly interested in bridging psychology with holistic wellness to promote long-term mental and physical resilience.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain insights into the fascinating world of music and its impact on performance and well-being. We look forward to your participation!
